After the storm that hit Leiria and Marinha Grande, The Light Rebar supported the communities by donating 10 km of material for reconstruction and food, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility, unity and sustainable reconstruction.
The force of the winds that hit Leiria and Marinha Grande left deep scars on the region’s communities, businesses and families. Houses were left without roofs, structures were destroyed, warehouses were devastated and kilometers of landscape were transformed into a scene that is hard to recognize.
The absence of power, the breakdown in communications and the silence that followed the storm made the scale of the impact even clearer. In just a few hours, many residents lost possessions built up over a lifetime. They know that the next few years will be full of hard work, dedication and resilience to recover what has been lost.
But in the midst of the destruction, something greater stood out: the strength of the people.
Neighbors helping neighbors. Entrepreneurs sharing resources. Families supporting each other. A community weakened but determined to rebuild. It was this capacity for unity that struck us most.
At The Light Rebar Company®, we believe that building is more than erecting structures. It’s about contributing to stronger, more sustainable communities. It’s taking responsibility when it’s needed.
Faced with this reality, we couldn’t remain indifferent.
The Light Rebar Company® donated 10 kilometers of essential material for rebuilding structures, directly supporting the recovery efforts in the region. This support was only possible with the transportation help of our partner A.Barreira, Lda, who took our contribution to the communities. At the same time, food was delivered to help meet the immediate needs of the affected populations.
This action represents The Light Rebar Company®’s commitment to social responsibility and to the communities in which it operates. Because we believe that the true strength of a company is also measured by its ability to act in the most challenging times.
It was also inspiring to witness the mobilization that came from all over the country – and even abroad. Companies, associations and citizens came together in a remarkable movement of solidarity, demonstrating that, in difficult times, collaboration makes a difference.
Also noteworthy was the exemplary organization found in Leiria and Marinha Grande in coordinating the reception and distribution of goods. The ability to mobilize and the genuine desire to support all the inhabitants revealed an admirable collective strength.
The Light Rebar Company® left these locations aware of the scale of the destruction, but also deeply confident in their communities’ ability to rebuild.
The determination found is greater than any storm.
